This codex journal is handmade using traditional bookbinding techniques, combining Huun paper from the Yucatán with high-quality Hungarian cotton paper.

The outer cover is made from Huun — a textured, plant-based paper used in Yucatec Maya traditions — giving each piece a raw, organic surface that cannot be replicated.

Inside, the pages are thick Hungarian cotton paper, designed to handle watercolor, ink, and mixed media without warping or bleeding.

Each journal is built slowly by hand — cut, folded, and stitched using waxed cotton thread.

Cada Codex es hecho a mano, con tiempo, paciencia y fe. El proceso es un espiritual, lleno de rituales y oraciones. Las páginas son contenedores de energía potencial. 

Cada Codex es formado con una piedra, o pedazo de vidrio para crear un exterior único, luego es puesto en el sol, para energía cargada.

All Codices are handmade, handcrafted and book bind by hand. Paper varies from each CODEX ::: Hungarian Water Color Paper, Stone Drawing Paper and Recycled Cotton Paper. Calle Soledad Presa is dedicated with the Rasquache style of creating with what we have available and each CÓDEX shows and illustrates unique characteristics of imperfections. All Codices take 4-7 days to make. A slow process of repetition, discovery, dedication and patience.
