The cover is individually prepared with natural pigment, allowing the color, texture, and surface of the material to remain visible. Each notebook carries its own variations, making every piece slightly different from the next.

Natural pigments and recycled papers carry their own variations. Differences in color, texture, fibers, edges, and surface are part of the character of the notebook and are not defects.

THE CODEX
The codex is an important form within the history of books in the Americas. Calle Soledad Presa approaches the codex as a contemporary artist-book structure, using handmade paper, pigment, color, and bookbinding to create objects that exist between functional book and artwork.
